Brad Pitt has done the ultimate Los Angeles real estate house swap with oil heiress Aileen Getty after she snapped up his $39million compound.
The actor, 59, has decided to downsize from his Los Feliz estate and purchased philanthropist Aileen’s $5.5million three-bedroom home known as the ‘Steel House’ this month.
It marks a new chapter for Brad. The Babylon star sold his compound three decades a month before, after snapping up the property for $1.7M from horror icon Elvira.
He lived there with his ex wife Angelina Jolie and their six children.
Now, Dirt reports Brad has bought the Steel House – a much humbler home in comparison to his sprawling estate which boasts an ice skating rink, skate park, ballroom and home cinema.

It was nicknamed the Steel House due to its steel structure with huge panels of glass which help create breathtaking views of Los Angeles.
Aileen, who is the granddaughter of late oil tycoon J. Paul Getty, has made a profit on the house sale after she bought it from Maroon 5’s James Valentine back in 2019.

Brad sold his $39million estate last month. The property was originally listed for $45million in January, but it’s unclear what led to the price drop.
Pitt famously resided in the home with his ex-wife Angelina and their six children prior to their 2016 split, but he also occupied it independently for many years.
Brad’s impressive Hollywood Hills estate is nestled in a gated community and rich with history that spans over 110 years.
It was reportedly built by an oil baron back in 1910 and is the place where rock legend Jimmy Hendrix penned his 1967 hit May This Be Love.
Brad has spent years renovating and building new additions to the property with a team of world-class architects and designers.
The Interview With A Vampire star was said to have been very involved in the designing process as to create his perfect abode.
To expand the acreage, he purchased a number of adjacent lots.
The property’s main house is a whopping 6,700 square feet with five bedrooms and five bathrooms.
There’s two swimming pools located to the right of the property with a jacuzzi, as well as a large Koi pond.
To the left is a skatepark with a full pipe.
Stunning: The kitchen meanwhile, is a pale blue/ green and is just off the open plan living area
Walk-in wardrobe: There is plenty of wardrobe space for all of Brad’s suits, leather jackets and shades
Impressive: Wood and quirky artwork features throughout the property which gives the home a midcentury modern feel
Sociable: There’s a huge dining area which is the perfect place to entertain
There’s also a movie theater, a garage for Brad’s motorcycle collection and at least four guest houses.
And the actor let his 105-year-old neighbour live rent-free on his estate for years, Elvira star Cassandra Peterson has revealed in a new interview with People.
The Oscar winner was the perfect neighbour to his elderly friend after his wife passed away – allowing him to become a tenant on the estate.
Peterson, 71, who became next-door neighbors with Pitt after she sold him her home in 1994, said Pitt had built up his estate by acquiring surrounding properties, one of which belonged to a man in his early nineties.
She said: ‘He was very, very kind to the husband. His wife passed away and the husband, John, lived there. I know that Brad allowed him to live there without paying anything until he died.
‘It was kind of funny because John lived to be 105. I imagine Brad was thinking well, you know, he can live there till he dies, which might be any minute now.
Peterson said the actor was always ‘kind and sweet’ to her throughout their years as neighbors, and reveals she ‘almost fainted’ when she saw the star shirtless and punching a bag in preparation for 1999 film, Fight Club.
She added: ‘I remember he goes, “Hey, how are you?” and I’m like, “Huh?” I couldn’t talk. I was turning red. I felt like I was fainting,’ she continues. ‘He’s just so stunningly, stunningly handsome — and nice, to top it off.’
Pitt reportedly boasts a $100million real estate portfolio that includes his half of the $160 million French winery he co-owns with ex-wife Angelina.
Great views: It looks out to views of the city’s skyscrapers
Relaxing: There’s an outdoor seating area near the sauna which is surrounded by lush landscaping
