The versatile actress has been performing in The Wanderers at the Roundabout Theater since the previews began January 26.

The drama officially opened on Thursday and Saturday’s evening performance and Sunday’s matinee were both was sold out.

Katie stars as a movie star whose e-mail correspondence with a novelist ends up taking away time from the man’s wife and family.

The Coda actress share a phot with her co-stars Eddie Kaye Thomas, Dave Klasko, Lucy Freyer and Sarah Cooper on opening night in her Instagram Stories.

Charles Isherwood at the Wall Street Journal called the play, ‘perfectly cast’ and said of Katie’s performance that, ‘She imbues the character with a gracious intelligence and twinges of self-deprecation and humor.’

The New York Times reviewer Jesse Green was not quite so complimentary, writing the actress ‘is still feeling her way around a world that lacks a camera.’

Previews began in late January and, due to high demand, the show will run through April 2.

It marks Holmes’ debut with the Roundabout Theatre Company, according to Playbill
