Zach Efron is the host for Saturday Night Live, tonight – April 11, 2009. Musical guest is Yeah, Yeah, Yeah.
In other Zac Efron news – Zac spoke to USA Weekly about his celebrity status.
“I didn’t want to be famous,” Efron explains. “I get sick of seeing my own face around.”
Zac is more than famous – he is a teen idol. Singing, dancing and just being plain adoreable on Disney’s High School Musical can do that to a guy.
“I used to get so frustrated,” Efron says. ” For a while, I felt like I was completely lost in celebrity-land. I didn’t know how to handle it. Now I know that I have to plot where I’m going, when I’m going there and where the back entrance is. It’s like I’m playing a giant game of tag.”
Zac’s idea of an ideal Saturday is Hanging out with a group of friends and jumping on the 405 South to the beach for a day of sun and music. Something tells me that is not as easy as it used to be. Celebrity Icon can do that to a guy.
Zac is looking forward to being the best actor he can be.
“I’m definitely not the best actor in the world at this point,” he says. “But hopefully, with time and effort and smart decisions, that will Zac.”
Zac is trying to break away from the High School Musical “type” characters and is starting to do that with his upcoming movie ’17′. Do you think he’ll be able to break away from ‘teen idol’ and move on to different types of roles??
