It’s been three years since Chad Michael Murray left One Tree Hill and we haven’t really heard much about him since then. It has been confirmed that he will be back for the show’s ninth and final season.

Also returning to the show for it’s last season will be Tyler Hilton, Barbara Alyn Woods, and Paul Johansson. So what’s in store for Murray in this upcoming season? According to E! Online Lucas returns to Tree Hill when his best friend Haley, played by Bethany Joy Galeotti, reaches out to him for help. It is speculated that Nathan disappears for awhile, so maybe this is why Lucas returns.

Murray told E! Online last month that he would “absolutely” come back if they asked him too. Now all we need back is Hilarie Burton’s character, Peyton.
