Ben Affleck was completely overlooked when it came to being nominated for Best Director for the Academy Awards. Although, the actor vied for the nomination, it didn’t happen. Thankfully, the Critics’ Choice nominated Ben Affleck for Best Director for the movie Argo, where he won!

Affleck received a standing ovation for the win he said,

“I would like to thank the Academy. I’m kidding, I’m kidding. This is the one that counts. No, I do want to thank the Broadcast Film Critics Association. It is very, very cool for me. There was a time when the Ben Affleck’s Critics’ Award was a ‘Saturday Night Live’ sketch.”

It was a big night for Affleck, as the movie Argo also won Best Picture.

What do you think about Affleck’s acceptance speech? Do you think he should have been nominated for an Academy Award?
