Jay Z is a successful story of ‘rags to riches.’ There aren’t many crack dealers who can say that – they are either in jail or dead.
In an interview with Vanity Fair Magazine (he is also on the November cover), Jay Z, who was raised in Brooklyn, NY, was very open about his history and how he was able to learn about business. He told the magazine,
“I know about budgets. I was a drug dealer,” he continued, “To be in a drug deal, you need to know what you can spend, what you need to re-up.”
Jay Z said the most important plan any drug dealer can make is how to get out of the business.
Jay Z also spoke about his wife, Beyoncé and their daughter, Blue Ivy, revealing Blue is his biggest fan. Impressing his daughter is all that counts to Jay Z , who said when he played his album for her she said,
‘Daddy song, more, Daddy.’ He also revealed, ‘She’s genuine, she’s honest, because she doesn’t know it makes me happy. She just wants to hear it.”
As for the rumors that Beyoncé wasn’t really pregnant with Blue Ivy, but was faking it, Jay Z said,
“I don’t even know how to answer that. It’s just so stupid. You know, I felt dismissive about it, but you’ve got to feel for her. I mean, we’ve got a really charmed life, so how can we complain? But when you think about it, we’re still human beings.
