Criminal Minds Recap 4/29/15 – “Protection”
This week’s episode of Criminal Minds opens with a white male by the name of Danny Lee Stokes running very fast, down an abandoned street, from a Los Angeles patrol car. With the sirens and light illuminating the night sky, the UnSub is able to break free from the sights of the police officers. A few minutes later, Danny arrives home to a happy Milena Valdez. Milena is using a walker, as she approaches Danny, she yells to her mother, who quickly rushes to her daughter’s side and notices, “Danny, what happened?” Danny is covered in blood, while holding a gun.
The next morning, JJ is out for a brisk morning jog, as Morgan is trying to catch up to her, when his cell phone rings. He stops to answer it, and yells to JJ to do the same. Garcia begins to give the details of a recent murder in Los Angeles, as the two agents simultaneously roll their eyes, because it’s Saturday morning!
By now, the team is on the plane, and have begun to theorize what’s the connection between these three victims: Nate Cochran, Gary Fisher, and Tasha Brooks? Garcia was able to point them in the direction of the oldest profession.
Speaking of which, Morgan and Rossi are at the precinct interviewing Tasha Brooks’ boss, Eddie Parrish. The wise-businessman is deflecting answers to the agents questions when Morgan places his mother’s recent bank statement in front of him. Now, Eddie is ready to talk, but doesn’t seem to have the answers to the agents question on who killed Tasha. When the case file is presented to Eddie. He briefly looks at the photos of all three victims, and tell the agents he doesn’t know them. When Morgan and Rossi push a little harder for an answer, he takes another look at the photos and points out Gary and tells them, he’s a regular.
Later that afternoon, at the police department, the team reconvenes and begins to theorize that the working girl is being targeted, so the BAU is calling in all prostitutes to show them photos of the latest victims.
Approximately a dozen working girls viewed the photos of Gary Fisher or Nate Cochran, but the BAU has come up empty until JJ and Callahan interview Lizette Castro. This mother is very upset over the photo of Gary, so she uses the excuse she needs to pick up her son from her sister’s house. With that said, Lizette is able to break free from the continuous line of questioning from JJ and Callahan.
Meanwhile, Danny is home and is heavily drinking. Patricia hands Danny a sandwich, while she believes he is drunk. Her daughter, Milena intervenes on Danny’s behalf, and tells her mother Danny is not drunk, he has a headache, and needs the alcohol to make him feel better. The mother and daughter begin to fight about the mental state of Danny.
