Kylie Jenner is speaking out about the latest trend that happens to be named for her, the #kyliejennerchallenge. Thanks to Kylie’s beautiful plump lips, that have been rumored to be a result of lip injections, teens everywhere are taking the lip plumping challenge. Unfortunately they are getting hurt as a result of the challenge and instead of having fuller, plumper lips are ending up with uneven fuller lips, bruises and in the most severe cases shards of glass in their skin.

Kylie has taken to twitter to speak out about the challenge and send a message to her legions of fans. Jenner said,

“I’m not here to try & encourage people/young girls to look like me or to think this is the way they should look.” She continued, “I want to encourage people/young girls like me to be YOURSELF & not be afraid to experiment w your look. ❤️❤️❤️.”

Apparently Kylie didn’t get the memo, the people/young girls are experimenting with their looks. As a result of the experimentation they are ending up injured. Kylie claims her lips are a result of makeup and her sister Kim Kardashian, makes the same claims. And that is when the internet exploded with self help You Tube videos giving tutorials on the magic of make up and anyone with a little bit of skill can create the illusion of fuller lips.

The need for fuller lips like Kylie Jenner resulted in the “Kylie Jenner Challenge,” which calls for people to suck the air out of a shot glass, painfully enlarging their lips temporarily. Not only are their lips enlarged but in some cases, they are also left with a ring around their mouth. In the worst cases, the cups have broken and glass has gotten into their skin.

While it is thoughtful of Jenner to speak out and encourage her fans to be themselves, she really should take her own advice. How is getting lip injections (and lying about it) being yourself?
