Taraji P. Henson’s hosted Saturday Night Live for the first time with musical guest Mumford & Sons!

Henson, best known for her role as Cookie on the new hit television series, Empire, opened Saturday Night Live by singing a gospel-inspired song about how differently her life would’ve turned out if she hadn’t made it as an actress.

Other highlights from the show included Empire’s Cookie visiting  Sesame Street, a new Game of Thrones kingdom, Billy Crystal’s appearance on Weekend Update, a skit with Depends Legends, the diaper with  your favorite classic movie star’s face on it, a teacher trial, the sequel to Home and much more!

Also, make sure to catch Mumford & Sons’ performances of “The Wolf” and “Believe.”

Host Taraji P. Henson began by telling the audience how happy she was to be finally noticed after being in the business for 20 years. From there she sang a gospel-inspired song about how differently her life would’ve turned out if she hadn’t made it as an actress.

Teacher Trial
A lawyer (Taraji P. Henson) tries to prove a teacher (Cecily Strong) took advantage of her student (Pete Davidson) but instead learns the affair only had positive consequences.
