Kris Jenner Finally Opens Up About Bruce’s Journey
Other than telling a gossip blogger to F*&k off, Kris Jenner has been noticeably quiet about Bruce Jenner’s journey, even forgoing publicity rounds for this season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. The celebrity gossip did seem a little Kardashian-light for awhile. Ha! Ha! Ok, so it really didn’t, but for once the Kardashian machine slowed it down a bit to allow room for the build-up to Bruce’s interview with Diane Sawyer in which he announced that “for all intents and purposes, I am a woman.” Reports had Bruce watching the interview with his family, separately. First he watched with his first two wives and kids from those marriages. Next he watched with Kris, her children, and their children, Kylie and Kendall, but it was very quiet in Kardashian land other than a few Tweets sent out later in the night. So where in the world has Kris Kardashian been?
It seems she’s been waiting. In a new piece by New York Times Taffy Brodesser-Akner, Kris finally opens up. At least we are led to believe she opens up. The reality is that the Queen of Reality television says nothing more than, “At the end of the day I just want him to be happy.” Oh, and even better, “He’s going to find his happiness, and he’s going to have his journey.” Oh that crafty Kris Jenner. She got the NY Times to write a piece that basically tells us nothing, nothing new at least. We learned about her decoration, which fans of the show see every week. We learn she’s friends with Lance Bass. Already knew that. We learn she loves Costco. Who doesn’t? The most interesting tidbit was that they wouldn’t allow the reporter on the Costco trip. Could it be that Kris doesn’t actually shop there? Does she go for her photo-op and then had the cart to her assistant? I guess we’ll never know.
But about Bruce’s journey. After being teased for weeks that Bruce was coming out and hearing basically nothing from any filler-enhanced Kardashian/Jenner lips, we got the announcement that Keeping Up With the Kardashians would be doing their own special, Keeping Up With the Kardashians: About Bruce. The show will cover Bruce coming out to their children and Kris struggling, with Kim’s help, to accept his transition.
Diane Sawyer may have gotten the scoop, but she didn’t get the name that Bruce will be transitioning to or any pictures of Bruce as “Her,” most likely because that is being saved for his docuseries. She also didn’t get Kris Jenner or the Kardashian kids, not because they are not supporting Bruce but because they are saving it all for their own show that everyone loves to hate but can’t stop watching. Kris Jenner will finally be opening up about Bruce’s journey, but it will be on her terms and on her show.
Note: Bruce Jenner has not chosen to live publicly as a woman yet, therefore will be referred to as Bruce with male pronouns.
