Donald Trump has made it official – he will be running for President of the United States in 2016. Calling a press conference on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, he made it official telling the press,

“Our country needs a truly great leader, and we need a truly great leader now. We need somebody who can take the brand of the United States and make it great again. So, ladies and gentleman, I am officially running for President of the United States, and we are going to make our country great again.”

Trump also declared the “American dream dead,” but promised if elected president, he would bring it back.

While Trump teased in the past that he would run for President, this is the first time he has made it official, making him the 12th Republican candidate in the 2016 race. Other familiar names he will be running against are Jeb Bush, who is the brother of former President George Bush and three days after Hillary Clinton officially launched her Democratic campaign.

By running for President of the United States of America, the Celebrity Apprentice will be put on hold since he is the face of the show and that would give him an unequal amount of television time as compared to the other candidates who he is running against.

As for the reactions to Trump’s running for President? A number of celebrities weighed in and this is what they had to say on Twitter:

Bryan Cranston: “What fun if Trump runs for pres. I’ll celebrate with Heisenberg’s Vodka. If he wins I’ll drink into a coma.”

Olivia Wilde: Posted a photo of a lady parts wig and said: “This merkin also has cash to burn and might as well run for president.”

Albert Brooks: “Donald trump announces this morning that he will run for president. His hair will announce on Friday.”

John Groban: “I’m protesting trump’s speech by eating a croissant in bed. CRUMBS DE LA RESISTAAAANCE!!”

Andy Cohen: “I am looking forward to seeing which cabinet position Trump gives @NeNeLeakes.”

Well one thing is for sure…..Donald Trump will definitely make it an interesting event. What are your thoughts on The Donald running for President of the United States?
