Caitlyn Jenner has been able to change the way she looks with surgery. She has been able to change the way she is perceived with how open she has been about becoming a woman. The one thing Jenner has not been able to change is her voice. While Caitlyn looks and acts like a woman, when she speaks she is still Bruce Jenner.

In a preview of the reality series, I am Cait, we see Caitlyn discussing her voice with her step-daughter, Kim Kardashian. Caitlyn spoke to Kim about her curiosity about being accepted as a woman. She had always wanted to call down to room service but couldn’t get up the nerve to do it. Kim decides to practice with her and pretends to be the room service employee. Caitlyn speaks but looks visibly uncomfortable when saying, “Yes, actually, you can help me!” Kim laughs and tells Caitlyn – “You sound no different!”

Jenner then explains how insecure she is about the voice issue saying,

“Women cannot relate to the whole voice thing. They don’t see it as being that important when it is that important, not only for you to speak and order and do all that kind of stuff, but very important for your soul that you’re feeling good about that.”

At the ESPY Awards, Jenner accepted the Arthur Ashe Courage Award looking fantastic and her speech, encouraging the acceptance of the transgender community, was trending worldwide. Despite all that Caitlyn took to her blog to reveal her insecurities about her voice saying, “While I felt like I looked great and that the gown looked fabulous, I still have a voice issue. It’s not quite right compared to my feminine appearance. That bothers me a little bit. However, I hope that people don’t listen to the pitch of my voice, but listen to what I have to say. That’s important to me.”
