Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale Announce Divorce
After 13 years of marriage, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale have decided to get a divorce.
Stefani filed for divorce from husband Gavin Rossdale. The couple released a statement saying,
“While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment. To that end, we respectfully request privacy from the media during this time.”
The reason for the split was listed as irreconcilable differences and while the couple filed for joint custody of the children, Gwen is requesting that Rossdale does not receive spousal support.
Rumors of problems between the couple emerged last year, when there was speculation the couple were separated. Rossdale denied the allegations at the time and even joked around the reason they have been married so long was because they don’t spend a lot of time together. Rossdale has also spoken about Gwen making him a better person.
Gavin Rossdale, the frontman of the band Bush, made headlines in 2010 when he admitted to having a gay affair when he was 17. He referred to the affair as experimentation at the time.
This summer has been filled with divorce announcements including Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, in addition to Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert.
That makes two of the judges from The Voice – both Blake and Gwen, who have split from their spouses. Hopefully, Adam Levine will have better luck with his beautiful wife.
Gaving and Gwen have three children; 9-year-old Kingston, 6-year-old Zuma and 1-year-old Apollo.
Is there something in the water in the world of celebrities with all these divorces being announced?
