Harry Connick Jrs. Teen Daughter Arrested
Harry Connick Jr.’s daughter, Georgia, was arrested in their home in New Canann, Connecticut.
Georgia Connick, 19 and a teen herself, reportedly gave permission to minors to possess alcohol, in addition to procuring alcohol for minors, NBC reports.
Harry and his wife Jill Goodacre were said to be out at the time – hence the party? While the couple was out, Georgia thought it would be okay to have a small get together but the small get together turned into a party when more people than anticipated showed up. Georgia must have allowed the guests to bring alcohol to the ‘get together’ or provided the alcohol.
The police were said to have received a call on Saturday at 1am claiming there was underage drinking going on at the house. When police arrived, they saw partygoers running from the house and into the woods nearby and found several empty and open beer cans, according to People Magazine.
Harry Connick, Jr. released a statement asking for privacy in the matter, stating:
“This is a private matter which we are dealing with as a family. We have no further comments. Thank you for understanding.”
Georgia’s behavior is typical teen behavior. Unfortunately, since she is the daughter of a famous singer (and American Idol judge), her wrong decision is now public news. Hopefully the family will get the privacy they deserve to deal with the matter at hand.
What are your thoughts on Georgia providing the alcohol and having a party while her parents were out?
