Josh Duggar Checks Into Rehab for Long-Term Treatment
Josh Duggar has checked himself into rehab days after revelations that he had two subscriptions to cheating website Ashley Madison. The Ashley Madison hack couldn’t have come at a worse time for Josh who had been trying to overcome the damage done after the news came out that he had molested his sisters.
The Duggar family seemed to be shocked that Josh’s bad behavior wasn’t in the past. They had preached about God and forgiveness hoping to show that Josh had repented and was a changed man. After the discovery that the man who preached about family values and lobbied against same sex marriage had actually broken the vows he claimed to hold sacred, the family went into crisis mode.
TLC dragged their feet before finally canceling the Duggar’s reality show 19 Kids and Counting. Many believed Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar sat down with Megyn Kelly to address the issue in an effort at winning public support and keeping their show. Jessa and Jill also appeared on Kelly’s show declaring that they were more than some family on television and that if the show went away tomorrow, none of them would care. Odd words coming from people who became rich and famous by allowing cameras to follow them.
While Anna has remained relatively quiet, her brother Daniel Keller lashed out at Josh on Facebook calling him a “pig” and declaring he will do anything to get him out of his family. Keller believed that his brother-in-law needed to lose everything before he’d get help. He also called out his parents for preaching to Anna to save her marriage.
In the wake of Daniel’s angry rant, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar released a statement about Josh entering rehab. They state:
Yesterday Josh checked himself into a long-term treatment center. For him it will be a long journey toward wholeness and recovery. We pray that in this he comes to complete repentance and sincere change.
They expressed love towards Josh’s wife promising support:
In the meantime, we will be offering our love, care and devoted support to Anna and our grandchildren as she also receives counsel and help for her own heart and future. During this time we continue to look to God-He is our rock and comfort. We ask for your continued prayers for our entire family.
There is no word where Josh is being treated or what it is he is actually being treated for. What do you think of Josh Duggar entering rehab? Is it a ploy to redeem his badly battered image or a genuine desire to get help? Let us know what you think here at Haveuheard.
