Blindspot Recap 9/28/15 Season 1 Episode 2 “A Stray Howl”
The season premiere of Blindspot last week was the beginning of what seems to be a thrilling, crime solving, and unusual mystery behind the confused tattooed filled woman, Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander). We have the recap for the season premiere of Blindspot here.
After detective Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) and Jane Doe were able to stop the planned attack of the statue of liberty by Chao (Yung-I Chang) , they are more confident on discovering the reason behind Jane Doe’s current state. Also, Doe at the end has a flash back, which means she may be having more in the upcoming episodes.
The man with the beard, poses a interesting character that could determine why Jane Doe is in this situation. Seeing him in the flashback, and at the end pulling the plug on the Chao in the hospital raises questions regarding his motives.
For tonights episode at 10 pm EST on NBC, a cryptic tattoo sends the team after a fighter pilot on a deadly mission. The team unlocks a cryptic tattoo that points to Major Arthur Gibson (guest star Robert Eli), an Air Force pilot with a painful past and a lethal agenda. Jane (Jaimie Alexander) continues to search for clues to her identity and is haunted when flashes of a disturbing memory force her to question her past. Meanwhile, Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) thinks he might know Jane’s true identity.
Jane Doe continues to go through memory tests, both physical and mental. She watches ink blots which causes her to remember the same recurring image, but during the training session where she shoots a pistol on a gun range, she remembers being in a church then shooting a nun.
Weller is with his sister, who wants him to go to Taylor Shaw’s memorial. Shaw was his childhood friend who went missing when they were 10 years old. Shaw has not been found or heard of since. However, Weller says work is too busy. At the FBI headquarters, they just receive news of Chao’s death, but see surveillance of the bearded man leaving but unidentified due to his mask. Doe can’t recognize him either from her flashback last episode.
The blonde lady FBI researcher has a discovery for the team though, one of her tattoos is a hidden code, which is unlocked through Chao’s apartment address. The code reveals a man named Arthur Gibson, former Air Force pilot.
Weller, Doe, and his team go to visit Gibson, but he’s clearly upset at their visit and doesn’t reveal anything. When they leave, the house surprisingly blows up. The FBI’s are unharmed as the ambulance and fire department arrive. Their is no body found, which means Gibson had a safe route out and blew up the house to hide any potential evidence.
Weller talks to Air Force officer Mrs. Powers, who says Gibson suffered PTSD after serving as a top pilot in Afghanistan. She claims he was shaken from civilian deaths, and put on lower administrative Air Force work. Many times though she doesn’t answer questions because it is “confidential” information.
