Where Was Candace Cameron Bure When View Panel Heated Up Over Kentucky Clerk?

By on September 9, 2015

The View opened up its new season and noticeably missing from one segment was conservative panelist Candace Cameron Bure. The new co-host missed a heated discussion about Kim Davis, the Kentucky clerk jailed for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

Bure received death threats after clashing with co-host Raven-Symone about same sex marriage this past July. The two got into it with Symone telling Bure, “I refuse to associate with you right now!”

The Hot Topics segment is supposed to be a free exchange between the panelists chosen by Barbara Walters. The women each represent different stages of life and bring their opinions to the chosen topics. It was during the Hot Topic segment that former co-hosts Rosie O’Donnell and Elisabeth Hasselbeck got into their infamous split-screen throw down resulting in O’Donnell leaving the show.

If Bure and Symone were hand-picked because of their political differences it would be an odd decision to leave Bure out of a segment addressing a topic that is being debated across the country, unless producers were looking for a less conservative point of view. Bure, is quite conservative though she doesn’t exhibit the hate that many tend to associate with those who lean towards her side of things.

Bure leaves out the fire and brimstone when discussing her position and comes off as very reasonable, even for those who disagree with her view. Is it possible that The View had an agenda, one that was more liberal?

That wasn’t the case according to a rep who told Page Six, “We had her on for ‘segment three’ because she’s not going to be on regularly for a couple of weeks. We want to build consistency to let viewers know who would be on for tomorrow.”

Bure is busy shooting Fuller House, the much anticipated continuation of Full House, the show that made her a star. She is expected to be absent for a few months of The View as she wraps up the first season of what she hopes will be her new hit show.

While the show denies Bure was hired to be the resident conservative to play against the very liberal, Symone, it would be hard to ignore obvious friction factor between the two during the Hot Topics segment.

What do you think? Did The View keep Candace Cameron Bure off of the segment about Kim Davis to push an agenda or was she really just busy with Fuller House? Let us know what you think here at Haveuheard.
