On the last part of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” reunion, we saw original member Vicki Gunvalson finally giving in and saying that she did not think that her on/off boyfriend, Brooks Ayers, had cancer. Much of season ten (the Atlanta franchise started season eight on Sunday) had been spent with the women of the show trying to find out of Ayers really had cancer or if he was just using it for sympathy. Newbie Meghan King Edmonds did a lot of snooping and discovered that he had lied about cancer in the past while Shannon Beador had helped get him the best treatment yet het declined it. There was even Tamra Judge’s psychic or spiritual reader who told Judge, Edmonds and Heather Dubrow that he did not see cancer when he felt out the whole Brooks and Vicki situation. A few years back, Ayers said that he had pancreatic cancer then recanted that and told Gunvalson’s daughter Briana Culberson that he really just had pancreatitis. As an RN, Briana was very leery of her mother’s boyfriend, who finally moved in last season. However, by season’s end, they had broken up and he had said it was like having a piano lifted off his back. Now, we are finally learning the truth behind, what some would call, a master manipulator.

Did or does Brooks Ayers have cancer? The answer is…we still do not have a definitive answer. Though he spoke to E!’s Melanie Bromley last week and had papers that said he had been treated for cancer at City of Hope, the facility has released a statement saying that Brooks was never under their care. The rep had this to say, in short to E!: they have never treated anyone by the name of “David Brooks Ayers” and from what the hospital presented E! with, the paperwork that he has been showing to everyone from City of Hope is all manufactured. The logo as well as the address are wrong but this is what Ayers had to say prior to the City of Hope reps speaking out: “These are the three bills that reference the days I got my treatment. I’m not going to say I’m in remission. That’s not going to be the case until my numbers have normalized and that’s the word that was used to me.” He also claimed to have over $33,000 in medical bills. But his ex-girlfriend’s co-stars are still on the fence about the truth. What do you think: does Brooks have cancer or was Vicki duped? Let us know in the comments or tweet us @haveuheard1.
