The First National Tween Summit took place last Saturday(Oct. 10) in Washington D.C. The Summit was a dream come true for Denise Restauri, CEO of AK Tweens and AllyKatzz.com. Several years ago Denise was inspired to create a safe online community where her daughter, Ally could talk with other girls her age about her dreams, goals, opinions, and thoughts about the world, which lead to the creation of AllyKatzz.com. Denise wanted to give the girls that same opportunity offline, to meet, join together, stand up and be heard which inspired her to plan The Tween Summit.
Have U Heard attended The Tween Summit with our daughters and had the most amazing day. They had the opportunity to meet some incredible women, who spoke with them about everything, including careers, dreams, body image and bullying.
Several hundred tweens attended the Summit and were excited and inspired throughout the day.
Some of the wonderful women that participated in the Summit were:
Jess Weiner, who motivates women and girls of America to develop self-confidence, self-knowledge, and self-acceptance! The tweens were drawn to her energtic and engaging message.

The tweens had a great time hanging out in The Girls Game Lounge at different points during the day, where many sponsors generously gave the thrilled girls a bunch of their products.
Singer-songwriter Laura Warshauer gave an outstanding performance Saturday afternoon. Laura is currently touring to support he self-titled EP and she will also be performing at the CMJ MUSIC FESTIVAL on October 20th.
After a pizza and ice cream party the day ended with The Tween Summit Music Festival. Disney star Debby Ryan was the host for the concert with amazing performances by pop sensation, WOW, American Idol finalist Brooke White, singer and dancer Jacob Latimore and the rockin’ Comic Book Heroes.

In honor of Father’s Day on Sunday, we wanted to show you some of our favorite celebrity dads with their kids. Since you may be thinking of your dad or maybe the father of your children, we included a poem about dads.

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle’s flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,

When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so,
