Jenny Stefanovic has broken her silence after her sons, Karl and Peter, were axed from the Today show and Weekend Today respectively.
The mother-of-four admitted it had been a ‘tough time’ for the family following the sackings, but vowed that her boys would overcome their current hardships.
‘It’s a tough time of change for all,’ she wrote on Instagram late on Thursday night.

‘They have been in war zones, earthquake areas and many other natural disasters,’ she continued.
‘[They have] seen suffering and devastation throughout the world. They have all worked hard for themselves and the Nine Network and they will overcome these changes as well.’
Jenny made the comment on Instagram after her sister shared a photo of Jenny and Peter’s wife Sylvia Jeffreys at Karl’s recent wedding to Jasmine Yarbrough in Mexico.

Karl joined Nine News as a presenter in Brisbane in the year 2000, before becoming the co-host of the Today show in 2005, where he covered stories like the Royal wedding and interviewed politicians and celebrities.
Peter worked as a senior news reporter at Nine and co-hosted Weekend Today – but before that he was employed as foreign correspondent for a decade.
The role, which saw Peter witness ‘death and destruction’ in places like Africa and the Middle East, was detailed in his 2016 autobiography, Hack in a Flak Jacket.

On Tuesday, Peter was dropped from Channel Nine after his contract wasn’t renewed.
Karl was kicked off the Today show the following day, but remains with the network.
The 44-year-old set to resume filming the second season of This Time Next Year in February, however his future with the broadcaster nonetheless looks uncertain.
‘For the last 14 years I’ve co-hosted the best show on television,’ Karl said in a statement announcing his departure from Today this week.

‘I can’t thank Nine enough for the opportunity. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would be good enough to host this grand show for so long,’ he added.
‘Thanks to our viewers mostly, you are what matters most. It’s been a tough time. Thanks for hanging in there. I look forward to seeing you in another capacity at this great network soon.’
A spokesman for Peter, 37, also said that he was ‘exploring new opportunities’ and was ‘looking forward to spending weekends with his wife’ Sylvia Jeffreys after leaving Channel Nine.
