Simmons is not the only Real Housewife to contract the virus, as numerous other castmates from various shows in the media franchise have been infected in the past.

In July, Shannon Beador, who appears on the Orange County iteration of the show, announced that she had contracted the coronavirus, along with her daughters.

Multiple members of the Beverly Hills version of the show have undergone treatment for the disease recently, including Kyle Richards, Dorit Kemsley, and Kathy Hilton.

Richards recently made a post to her Instagram detailing how she and her sister finally overcame the effects of the virus after weeks of various ailments.

In November, production on the Atlanta iteration of the show was shut down after a crew member began experiencing characteristic symptoms of COVID-19.

A month prior, filming on the New York version was halted for the same reason; none of the housewives tested positive for the virus.
